Prolong the life of your razor
Most razors last about one to two weeks, but some dull much sooner than that. Try these tips for keeping your razor sharp for as long as possible.
Use an exfoliator
A lot of what gets caught up in and dulls blades is actually pieces of dead skin. Use an exfoliator on your skin to remove these dead skin cells before you shave to stop them from clinging to your razor and dulling the blade.
Keep it clean
Run your razor under warm water after every shave. This will prevent build up of bacteria which can exacerbate razor burn, as well as dull the blade. Dry your razor thoroughly by running your razor in the opposite way from how you shave along a dry towel, denim or, if you're Chuck Norris, your bare forearm. Store it somewhere dry, to prevent rust.
The power of olive oil
Immerse your razor head in olive oil or use a cotton wool bud to swab a little onto the blades. This will form a protective coating to stop it from oxidizing and rusting.
